The Crow Rider Review

If you read my Top Books of 2019 post, you know the The Storm Crow was not only one of my favorite books of last year, but one of my favorite books of all time.

Kalyn Josephson has done it again. I was so excited to receive this digital ARC from Edelweiss that I started reading it as soon as I was approved and didn’t stop until I was finished. What adult responsibilities?

The Crow Rider is the perfect follow-up to The Storm Crow. We rejoin our characters just after the ending of the first book and the journey only gets more exciting from there. Kalyn Josephson weaves a tale of friendship, adventure, romance, and magic and manages to infuse it with big themes like mental health, family, diversity, oppression, and multi-generational mistakes in a way that encourages the reader to consider the nuances.

I didn't know it was even possible, but the originality of the first book is amplified in this follow-up as Josephson dives further into the culture and magic of the world she has created.

I love both The Storm Crow and The Crow Rider so much I wish there was a way I could erase them from my memory and discover them all over again. As it is, I can already tell I will be re-reading these two books over and over. This duology has cemented itself as one of my all-time favorites.

The Crow Rider is out on July 7th and I can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy of this beauty. Don’t forget the pre-order campaign! Just submit your receipt to receive one of two exclusive deleted scenes.

If you haven’t read The Storm Crow yet what are you waiting for? Make sure to grab a copy of it too!
