Get to know Sophie, the main character from the Animage Academy series.
Q1: Are you excited to start your second year at Animage Academy?
For sure. I can’t wait to get back to school. Now that everyone can shift and knows their animal, magic lessons are really going to heat up.
Q2: What are you most looking forward to?
So many things. Being back with my friends. I love getting to see Simon more at home, but it gets kind of lonely in upstate New York with just Simon and I. Mom and Dad have been gone a lot this summer.
So friends, being back in the city. I love New York. We also learn more about our animals this year. Depending on what you shift into, each Animage gets to go on a two-week camping trip as our animals to connect and communicate with other animals like us this year. There are no wild dragons anymore—of course—but I can’t wait to spend two weeks as my dragon and see what she has to teach me.
Q3: Do you have any romantic interests?
Ha. No. After things imploded with Drew last year, I’m not sure I want to get involved with anyone.
I heard a rumor that you and Hudson shared a kiss.
Oh yeah—that. Well, things were very heated in that moment. We never really talked about it again.
Do you have any feelings for Hudson?
Of course I do, he’s my best friend. Besides Simon, he’s the person I’m closest to. But it’s—complicated. Do I want something romantic to happen? I think I’m afraid of hurting our friendship. I don’t know. What’s the next question?
Q4: Any big plans for the summer?
Sophie: Simon and I plan on meeting up with Willa, Gracie, and Hudson to go to the big faerie festival in a couple of weeks. That should be fun.
Now some fun ‘getting to know you' questions:
Q5: If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be and why?
That’s a weird question. I have no idea. I’ve always liked those redwood trees out in California. So tall and strong. If I had to pick a tree to be, I’d pick one of those.
Q6: When was the last time you lost your temper?
Like three minutes ago. Ask anymore who knows me, I have a bit of a temper.
Q7: If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs—such as food and water—were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you?
Nothing. I’d just shift and fly back home. I’m not staying on a deserted island.
Nice loophole. For the sake of the question, let’s say that not an option.
Okay, Okay. Ummm—I guess a book, but it would be hard trying to decide which one. I’d also need something to do with my hands. Maybe a sketchpad? I’m kind of jealous Hudson can draw so well. So, if I’m marooned on a desert island I’d have plenty of time to draw something and show him up.
Q8: Do you put both socks on first, or one sock, one shoe?
To be completely honest, I’d rather wear flip-flops or go barefoot. If I have to wear them, I put both socks on and then shoes.
Q9: What’s the most useless talent you have?
I can whistle almost any song.
Q10: What’s your favorite quote.
“Fear her when she looks into the fire and smiles.”
